I had a fun time yesterday when Kimberly and I drove up to Jonesboro, AR to hang out with Alan (Kimberly's Brother) and Becky (Alan's Wife).  Alan just got a beautiful new left-handed Fender Jazz Bass and we jammed for a good portion of the day.  Even Kimberly joined in with a little percussion!  I learned Roxanne by the Police, which I think is the only song by them I now know.  Back in the early 90's I learned Every Breath You Take for a gig at a honky-tonk called "Escapades," but that was a loooong time ago.  Let me know if you have any suggestions for new songs to learn!  Also, my favorite store Comics and Collectables has a new message board out there which I have been frequenting lately.  If you're a comic fan, check it out!

Hey Kids, it's me Spider-Man!  Hal wants to wish everyone a happy 4th of July!  Also, he posted a new comic book review out on Gruntbuckets and he's thinking hard about writing a review of my new movie which he saw Tuesday night at midnight... that crazy fool!  He told me that he'd like to see it a few more times in the theater before he'd have much to say about it, though... but don't let that slow you down because the preliminary opinion is that he loves it!  Also, he told me to tell you that the new RUSH Album - Feedback rocks hard!  You should go buy a copy today, Best Buy has them for only $7.99, or at least they did on Tuesday.

Wow, it's been two weeks since I posted an update to the page!  Sorry about that folks, I've been diligently working at my job and staying away from computers during my free time.  But this is a weekend and I have something to talk about!  A quick note to everyone, Rush's new album is out on Tuesday!  I also posted a new comic review out on gruntbuckets.  And finally, I saw Fahrenheit 9/11 yesterday, which although it was mostly just a collection of news stories and behind the scenes footage, still inspired me to fill out my voter registration form and send it in.  I have to say, it didn't really change my opinion much since I'm already a liberal democrat... I guess... I mean, I've never really come out and said it before, but I guess I am... anyway, it did solidify a few of the feelings and thoughts I already had about the Bush presidency.  I won't claim to be all that knowledgeable about politics, but so what.  That's why people make movies like this.  Oh sure, this film was definitely a two-hour populist rabble rousing liberal criticism... and hooray for that!  I've always felt that free speech and protest is the healthiest sign of democracy and I chafe at the suggestion that doing so is unpatriotic.  Hello?!?  Not being able to do that is a the sign of a real problem, people... and if the conservative republicans out there wish to make a widely released documentary on how great the Bush administration is, then I'll go see that one too.  Both sides should be told, and any third, fourth, and fifth sides as well!

Oompa-Loompa doompity-doo, Hal's got another comic review....

Saturday, June 5th 2004 14:25PM

Hello one and all, I hope that you are doing well!  I posted a new comic book review out on gruntbuckets, check it out!  Last night was Freak Engine Friday, and it was quite funny!  The best part of the show was when they did a version of "Party Quirks" and two of my suggestions for unusual guests were selected, notably a bean burrito and Carrot Top!  Michael built a new site for Freak Engine and you can find it here.  Other than that, I'm just really enjoying a three day weekend (the Friday-Off variety) and am super glad that it's only half way over!!!  Yahooo!

I pity the fool who don't check out Hal's Rush In Nashville link!  He also spouted some jibba-jabba about how much fun the trip was and crap like that, but I can't remember none of it!  So back up, fool!  Else you wanna piece?!?!  And if he don't post his comic review of the week by tomorrow, I'm gonna put a "Clubber Lang-Sized" hurtin' on him.  Errrrrrgh!

Hey Everybody!  Long break since my last update, which can be mostly attributed to two things... 1) I foolishly tried to integrate a new mouse into my home computer system which resulted in much pain and anguish, and 2) Steven Turman and I just launched our new comic book review site.  From here on out, that's where I'll be posting my comic pick of the week and the "It Came From The Stacks" series.  Check it out!  It's in its baby stages now, but soon it's going to be awesome!  In other news, All Rush Month is coming to a close as Wednesday is the big night!  Tomorrow's my last day to catch up on all of my listening.  I'm currently working on Different Stages, and if I push hard I can get Vapor Trails and Rush in Rio down before the concert.  So take it easy folks and keep on rockin'!  And Speaking of rockin', check out the excerpt from Summertime Blues!

Greetings Earthlings, I bring you great news!   No, no... your pitiful planet will still be destroyed as planned.  I just saved a lot of money on my space cruiser insurance by switching to GEICO!  Oh heavenly joy!!

In other news, Hal posted a new "It Came From The Stacks" Review.  Enjoy it while you can, doomed creatures!

I'm all a flutter!  RUSH IS PUTTING OUT A NEW ALBUM!!!  It looks like it's going to be a cover album of 60's songs that they loved as kids... how cool is that?!?

Lots of other changes an updates.  I have a new comic of the week posted and I moved around and modified my news archive, movie reviews, and weekly comic archives.  Have a look!

Wednesday, May 12th 2004 10:00PM

Missed the weekly comic book run today, work was a little crazy.  Hopefully, I'll get a chance to pick them up tomorrow and have a new pick of the week posted.  Latoya was voted off American Idol tonight, which I'm happy about.  I never really liked her for some reason... there was a cockiness about her that just put me off.  That and I didn't want to end up with a Fantasia-Latoya final... don't get me wrong, I think Fantasia should win... but I'd rather see Diana come in second.  ALL-RUSH Month continues as I am mostly through Exit Stage Left.  Tomorrow I should be digging into one of my favorite albums, Signals.  I also entered a Rush contest today for a backstage meet and greet in Nashville.  Probably won't win, but man wouldn't that be cool?!?!

Monday, May 10th 2004 10:40PM

Hey Everybody!  I spruced up the new movie review section and added some more words to my Van Helsing Review.  All-RUSH month is still going strong as I finished off Permanent Waves today and am ready to dive into Moving Pictures tomorrow.  Have a great day!
